About College G.B. College Naugachia History This college is situated between two mighty rivers the Ganges and the Koshi and has been imparting education to the economically weaker sections and downtrodden since the day of its inception in 1958. The land property was donated to this college by the landlord named Gajadhar Bhagat and hence it was named as Gajadhar Bhagat, College Naugachia in his honor. It is situated 1 km north to the NH. 31 i.e. is known as Assam Road and 0.5 km north-west to the Naugachia Model Rly Station which links Patna- via Katihar to Guwahati and Kolkata. It has been imparting education up to Bachelor (Hons) courses in Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Approved Vocational courses like Bachelor of Computer Applications (B.C.A.) & Industrial Fish & Fishery (I.F.F). It is the oldest institution of Naugachia subdivision situated in the lap of Green Field.
Students apart from 40km come for learning and go for earning in different walk of life. This college is proud of its NCC cadets who participated in Republic Day parades in New Delhi. This college got NAAC Accreditation with ‘B’ Grade in January 2015. It has rich library having approx. 32000 books with rarest collection. In real sense of the term, it is the glory of the Diara i.e. the land situated in between the bed of two mighty rivers the Ganges and the Koshi. This college has successfully organized dozen of UGC sponsored National Seminars, 55th Annual Indian Chemists Meet and International Seminar as well.
To spread light of knowledge among the students of downtrodden dens, it has got Welfare Hostel constructed with attached campus. Pass outs of the traditional courses, vocational courses, N.C.C cadets and N.S.S volunteers have been getting employment opportunities in different govt. depts. and private sectors also. The faculty members of this college have been enhancing their skills by participating in National and International Seminars and publishing their Research papers and producing Ph.D.’s. Major and minor Research projects have also been completed by some of the faculty members of this college. Research papers were presented in the National and the International seminars and published in the esteemed journals of India and abroad. The college has successfully organized Inter-college Tournaments of Kabbaddi, Khokho and Ball-Badminton and has been rewarded with winner’s shields.
